There are many issues with the US coolant expansion tank by the radiator.  They can overheat, crack, and leave you stranded.  The Euro spec version was a much better solution, locating the expansion on the back firewall.  This kit includes a CAD designed bracket with a brand new expansion tank that is a direct bolt in for the BMW E36 chassis. in.

OBD1 Cars: To use this relocation kit, the power block will have to be relocated. Coolant level sensor wiring will have to be extended or disabled.

OBD2 Cars: To use this relocation kit, the secondary air pump will have to be deleted. Coolant level sensor wiring will have to be extended or disabled.

Kit Includes:

1x Steel Conversation Bracket (Coated Black)

1x Expansion Tank BMW #17111712641 modified with m6x1.00 nutserts in mounting locations (Cap and level sensor not included)

1x Mounting Hardware Kit

Notes:

Customer will be responsible for relocating connecting coolant lines.

For the coolant line under the intake, the ideal routing location is behind the cylinder head along the firewall. (See photos for reference) This is done by a series of hoses sections combined together.

For the coolant line from the radiator to tank, BMW #17112227482 is the hose originally designed for the euro E36 M3
