BMW N55/S55 Crank Hub Seal Guard
The Race German crank hub seal guard is designed with tight tolerances using OEM specs to ensure a perfect fit on E8x, Fxx, E9x N55 and S55 engines. If you've had your crank seal replaced, say after a crank hub job or engine work—double-check that it's seated at least 3/8" deep before installing this guard.
This piece is cheap insurance for your expensive motor. On the N55 and S55 platforms, the accessory belt runs right under common leak points like the oil filter housing or coolant lines. If any fluid drips onto the belt, it can start to slip, shred, or walk off the crank pulley. Worst case? Belt fragments get sucked through the crank seal and into the engine. They can jam up your timing components or clog the oil pickup—either way, you’re staring down a possible full engine replacement.
After seeing too many motors fall victim to this failure, we engineered a fix: a self-centering crank seal guard that minimizes the gap between itself and the crank hub to just 0.020", stopping debris from sneaking through. It's a small part that can save you from a big headache.
These are CAD designed and CNC'd out of one single block of aircraft grade 6061 aluminum. We then anodize them black for protection.
