BMW introduced VANOS in the early 90s, and it added variable valve timing to their famous straight six. Over time the VANOS unit wears out and you can develop error codes, or the famous VANOS rattle. The rattle will sound like marbles or rocks at the front of the engine rolling around. We have sourced quality replacement parts in an easy kit. Our kit is offered in 3 different versions.

Great Kit but should include gasket for Vanos covers with the four bolts that go over pistons
Kit works good, feels a decent amount quicker but I don’t recommend using the t30 screw they give for the camshaft, barley even tightened mine and it snapped with some threads in the camshaft, luckily it was loose enough I could get it out without using an extractor
Great Kit came with everything needed and more used on a M 52TUB 28 that had been neglected. Great time to do when doing a valve cover gasket. Would’ve put some photos in if it was an option.

Quick mailing just installed works well. Consider adding to the kit or as optional additions either 2 new plugs with o-ring or 2 new o-rings and the vamos piston gaskets. I really liked that I was able to talk to a representative.

Parts were as promised and delivered on time. My son already completed the rebuild. He and the car are loving it. Running well and rattle is gone. Black, 190,000 mile, 2005 E46 ZHP, 6 speed, my 16 YO son’s daily driver.
All the parts were there. No identification of country of origin. Could be the same Chinese parts you can get for a quarter the price. Who knows. Instructions would also be helpful for the price.
