The BMW boost solenoid is also referred to as the pressure converter and is a common source of boosting issues. This solenoid is inline with the vacuum tanks and allows for constant pressure. If you are suspecting your boost solenoid is bad, you may feel loss of boost or an odd noise from the solenoid.
