OEM vs OE vs Genuine

OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer)

OEM parts are produced by manufacturers who supply components to vehicle brands and meet strict quality standards. While these parts may not be the exact factory-installed version of your specific component, they are produced by trusted manufacturers who supply the automotive industry.

OEM parts offer a strong balance between quality and affordability, making them a smart option for many repairs and upgrades.

At Race German, we carefully source OEM parts from reputable manufacturers to ensure performance, reliability, and value.

OE (Original Equipment)

OE parts are the same components that were installed on your vehicle when it left the factory, just without the vehicle manufacturer’s logo and without the dealership markup.

Vehicle manufacturers like BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Volvo, and others do not produce most components themselves. Instead, they contract specialized manufacturers to produce parts to their specifications. When you purchase OE from Race German, you’re getting the exact same part made by the same manufacturer that supplied it for factory assembly.

In many cases, OE parts offer equal, or sometimes even better, quality compared to current Genuine offerings, as manufacturer contracts can change over time.

OE parts will be stamped with the original manufacturer’s branding (Bosch, Hella, Lemförder, etc.), but due to licensing agreements, the vehicle manufacturer’s logo will not appear on the part.

Genuine Parts

Genuine parts are sourced directly from the dealership and are the exact components installed during factory service or dealer repairs. These parts carry the vehicle manufacturer’s logo and branding and are typically offered at a premium price.

In most cases, the part inside the box is manufactured by one of the vehicle manufacturer’s approved Original Equipment suppliers, such as Bosch, Hella, Mann, Lemförder, and others, but packaged and branded under the vehicle manufacturer’s name.

If you’re looking for the exact dealer-supplied part, Genuine is the way to go.
